Love God - Connect to Others - Serve the World

Operation Christmas Child

2013 Goal = 275 Shoeboxes

This year we reached our goal of 200 shoeboxes!!!

(Packing Shoeboxes)

Shoeboxes are packed each year in the Mission's Center of our Vacation Bible School.  Items are gathered throughout the year for these boxes that are part of  the ministry of  Samaritan's Purse of the Billy Graham Ministries.  Items are collected throughout the year and especially during the week of VBS.  Boxes are packed and stored at our church until November.  During a Wednesday night service, our children place candy in ziplock bags and add the bags to the boxes.  They are dedicated during a designated church service during November and taken to a local processing center.  From there, they are shipped to the closest warehouse for further processing on their way to needy children around the world.

Year round collection for appropriate items include crayons, small notebooks, small toys, playdoh, small plastic cups, pencils, erasers, small stuffed animals, washcloths, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, gender appropraiate toys.  No liquid, glass, or war type toys allowed in boxes. There will be an emphasis on collecting these items the last Sunday of each month.

(Mission Trip to Atlanta)

In late fall we will take a team to Atlanta to the Distribution Warehouse. This team will aid in getting the shoeboxes ready for their final destination. If you would like more information on this trip, or simply on Operation Christmas Child, please email Armentia Adams.
